Step: Upload

How to Upload Your MOC to OpenStuds

Who can upload, where the form lives, what to fill in, and what happens after you click Submit. We use neutral bricks language across OpenStuds; this page is the practical upload walkthrough.

1
Account and seller status
You need to be logged in. /edit-moc sends logged-out visitors to the login page. Only sellers who finished Stripe onboarding can upload (you’ll see Upload MOC in the footer when that’s you). Start or continue from My Profile on the seller card. For the bigger picture on selling, read Selling MOCs.
2
Open the upload page
Use openstuds.com/edit-moc (worth a bookmark if you upload often). The page drops the usual footer on purpose so the form has room. That’s expected.
3
What’s on the form (top to bottom)
  • Preview: A card that updates as you add text and images so you can see roughly how the listing will look.
  • Basic information: Title, part count, description (markdown), rough parts cost in USD, category, difficulty, tags, price.
  • Required files: At least one image (JPEG, PNG, or SVG; up to 10, 100 MB each). One image is the thumbnail. Instructions as PDF or .io (up to 5, 100 MB each). Parts list as XML (up to 5, 100 MB each). The form reminds you that .io isn’t watermarked like some PDF setups.
  • Settings: “MOC was verified to be buildable,” plus optional site-wide discounts with a max percentage when you turn that on.
  • Submit: Sends the package into review.
4
After you submit
If it worked, you’ll get a modal saying the MOC is in review. Staff check guidelines and might reach out if something’s off. If something breaks, an error screen shows a code and message so you can try again or write support.

Tighten the listing with best practices and read our commission model for how fees work.
