Liberty-Ship

The Liberty ship was the standard Allied cargo vessel of World War II, designed to be built faster than German U-boats could sink them. Between 1941 and 1945, an astonishing 2,710 were produced to keep Britain and the Soviet Union supplied.
This model recreates one of these legendary freighters in 1:200 scale. The five cargo holds are loaded with wartime essentials: tanks, jeeps, oil drums, aircraft engines, transport crates, torpedoes and two locomotives.
The funnel is removable, revealing the engine room with a detailed, functioning piston steam engine.
