The HMS Surprise was a frigate of the Royal Navy. Originally she was built as Unité for the French Navy’s. Launched on 16 February 1794, the ship gained fame in 1799 for the recapture of HMS Hermione, and in 1802 was sold out of the service. Historical fiction author Patrick O’Brian set many of his Aubrey–Maturin series aboard HMS Surprise.
This model shows the ship in scale 1:200. It was a hard Job to build the ship this scale, because ists really small. The model is only 25 studs long and six studs wide. But it has more than 700 Parts. That are 28 parts for each stud length.
