Description
Designer
This MOC has been verified as buildable by its designer.

This is the Imperial version of the AT-AS walker. In comparison to its predecessor, which served the Republic during the Clone Wars, it was refitted with a more powerful laser gun that doesn’t use any shells, the secondary armament was upgraded to a rapid fire twin laser gun, and it also received additional armor.

When this version was developed, imperial engineers expected the walker to serve similar roles as in the Clone Wars, like giving artillery fire support from the rear lines of the battlefield.
However as the Empire spread across the Galaxy there weren’t any large scale battles happening anymore, with the upcoming Rebel movement fighting a guerilla war.
Due to its inefficiency in those scenarios the walker was eventually set out of production, only a few years after the Clone Wars. Few models were actually built, and they were rarely seen. During the rise of the New Republic though, many of these walkers saw use again, as they proved well against the now more openly fighting New Republic.

Price

Tips

For all red pieces you can use any color you want, as they wont be seen later on.

Also there are 2 custom printed pieces in the build, which can be replaced by their normal counterparts:

2x 2x2 tile with Imperial logo in light bluish gray

(The model you buy doesn’t have any wear off colors like the dark tan that you see in the pictures. It will look brand new like it was just delivered from an Imperial factory.)
