BB 8 set 75452 MOD - New Body + Base

The new LEGO BB-8 is a great companion to the quite recent sets of C-3PO and R2-D2 and would look perfect next to them if it weren’t for some relatively major issues. So I sat down and fixed BB-8 to look truly perfect next to his droid friends.

The modifications:

• A complete rebuild of the body inspired by Hackules’s amazing BB-8 MOC but using the printed dishes from the set
• A slightly modified head with modified antennas, a different connection to the body and some color fixes
• A brand new removable base that makes BB-8 a much more solid display piece than the original set while matching the design language of LEGO’s recent buildable C-3PO.

NOTE:

• This MOD sacrifices all play features for accuracy. Not much of an issue if you only want to display it
• The structural core is much less sturdy than the one from the original set. The MOC is meant as a display piece, not a play set.
• The inventory also includes the parts that already are included with set 75452. If you already own that set use the “Compare MOC”-feature in the bottom right.
