Description
Designer
This MOC has been verified as buildable by its designer.

This is a customization of the official LEGO set 75394 Imperial Star Destroyer.

To build, either:

  1. Buy set 75394 and use the extra parts list.
  2. Use the total parts list.

Both methods will require following the MOC instructions alongside the original set instructions.

ℹ️ See change log at the bottom for the most up to date info on this model.

⚠️Stand is a free, separate, build and can be found here

This build shares 76% of the parts from set 75394 for a total of 1,879—453 of which are new.

PDF instructions and parts lists are included.
This modification is perfect for those who may not have space for the UCS Star Destroyer, but want a detailed display piece that they can still pick up and play with.
Features include a complete underside hull, interior (same as the original), detailed turbolaser batteries, position-able sensor array for ISD class I or II configurations, slightly larger main engines and additional exterior detailing.

Model size has been increased to the dimensions below.

Dimensions:
L: 22.4 in (57 cm)
Panels are 67 studs long on each side. Model is approx. 71 studs long, total.
W: 14.2 in (36 cm)
H: (without stand): 8.3 in (21.2 cm)
H: (with stand): 12 in (30.48 cm)
Weight:
~4.2 lbs (~1.9 kg)

While this is a playset, it is not as kid-friendly as the original due to the change in profile.
This model is very sturdy, though extra care needs to be taken when setting the model on areas other than a display stand. Swoosh-ability is good, but requires either two hands, one on each side, or one hand on the underside. The carry handle is still mostly usable but the model tilts forward and is heavier than the original at ~4.2 lbs (~1.9 kg). I recommend placing a hand underneath when using the carry handle.

Important: A free stand is available here as a separate build and is highly recommended. Having a stand to place the set on while building and displaying, whether you use this one or one of your own creation, makes it much less awkward to put the set down because of the angled underside hull.

== Change Log ==
v1.1 - 11/22/2024

  • More structural supports added on the inner hull panels and body to reduce panel movement and flex.
  • Updated the mounting technique for the underside dome sensor to make it stronger and much less likely to pop off when handling.
  • Reinforcements to some plates that could fall off if bumped.
  • Minor change to bridge tower face greebling.
  • Added 1x1 plates to the edges of the panels to fill in some gaps.
  • Swapped color on technic pins 3L (6558) to blue to reduce cost.
A total of 49 parts were added, at a rough cost of $2.30 for the extra parts.
