This is an over two-foot wide rendition of the Separatist landing craft as seen in The Phantom Menace. I haven’t built this one in real-life, but I have actually built a color-swapped version form Star Wars: The Clone Wars and can tell you that this is very, very sturdy. I have included some real-life photos of the Separatist version so that you can see the stability and size comparison to some other sets. If you want to get the Clone Wars version, I also have instructions for that.
The coolest thing I was able to bake into this droid landing craft is a lever up at the top that, when you slide it forward, automatically opens both doors at once while also deploying a loading ramp between them.
The second coolest thing is the fact that there is absolutely no wing sag—the wings are completely self-sustaining and you can even hold the model by those wings with zero issues (though you’ll probably just hold it by the integrated carrying handle). This droid landing craft is actually very, very robust. Looks great on display and can be safely played with by any five year old.
In addition to the main door opening feature, there are also two removable roof sections to reveal a cockpit for a minifigure, and a “garage” section to store the included miniature AAT. There’s a flap on the back where you’ll find room to store some blasters, and honestly the paneling all around this thing just turned out really good.
